ESTATE AGENTS ACT 1979
Although estate agents do not need licences, under the Estate Agents Act the Director General can ban people
from engaging in estate agency work if he considers them unfit to do so or can issue a warning order giving
notice that continuing the conduct in question would lead to the banning of that person from estate agency
work. The legislation lays down the situations in which the Director General can issue these prohibitions or
warning orders
